Aerobics

The first form of aerobic exercise was developed by Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper in 1968; he developed exercises to prevent coronary artery disease in astronauts. He then realized these exercises would help the general public. Today the same concepts that Dr. Cooper developed are now put into many forms these include: Dance Aerobics, Floor Aerobics, Step Aerobics, and Water Aerobics.

Weight Training

The history of weight training can be traced back to ancient Greece when a Greek physician came up with an early form of the dumbbell.  Today, the equipment has changed, but the concept remains the same.  The Cybex weights class uses modern equipment to develop muscular strength and muscular endurance.  Research has shown that good muscle strength helps people live healthier lives.
